The Forgotten Star
Intrigued by a unique "Sleep With the Ghosts" event at historic Fort Mifflin in Philadelphia, Jim and Natalie decide to explore other forts built in our First System of Coastal Fortifications. Stopping at Fort McHenry in Baltimore- the battle which inspired Francis Scott Key to write The Star-Spangled Banner in 1814, they embark on a journey which takes them on the back streets of Baltimore exploring cryptic symbols of the secretive Freemasons, as well as wandering the open expanses of Washington, D.C. encountering long forgotten monuments to heroes from our past. At the Smithsonian Museum of American History, they become fascinated with a true-life mystery surrounding an American icon- the Star-Spangled Banner and begin a search for the answer.
The Forgotten Star is an historical mystery and gripping narrative of the War of 1812, the heroes who fought in it and the sacred principles which kept them going in spite of long odds against their cause for liberty. The novel weaves a mystery with historic details of how our country came to be what it is today, through numerous wars and epic conflicts. The novel, containing 30 images of historic sites and monuments, is dedicated to all our Veterans, especially those from the "forgotten wars" of 1812, Korea and Vietnam. Its detailed discussion of the characters who helped build the foundation for this idea we call America is both illuminating and inspirational.
